■10.過去分詞② 受動態の注意点(1)


① The car must be repaired.

② The car is being repaired.

 

受動態の基本の意味は｢～は～される｣ですが，受動態や進行形の意味が添えられることもあります。

 

■助動詞を含む受動態＜助動詞+be+過去分詞＞

① The car 　must be repaired.

その車は　　　　修理されなければならない

 

■進行形の受動態＜be動詞+being+過去分詞＞

② The car　 is being repaired.

その車は　　　　修理されているところだ

※進行形の受動態は「～されているところだ」という意味になります。

 



■応用力をつける
　 　 　　

① A list of new books can be obtained※1 upon application※2 to the publisher※3.　　　

② Let's go ahead※4 and do it.  Nothing will be gained by just waiting.

③ There is somebody walking behind us.  I think we are being followed※5.

④ He is known to be one of the greatest scientists in the world.

⑤ My uncle was advised by the doctor to lose some weight.　　　　　　

⑥ Green tea is believed to be high in vitamins and minerals.

※1obtain：手に入れる ※2請求 ※3出版社 ※4先に ※5follow：尾行する

新刊書のリストは　　　      　　　　     手に入れられる　  　　　　　        請求によって　　　　   　　　   　 出版社への　


② Let's go ahead and do it.  　Nothing will be gained  　by just waiting.

先に進めて行動に移そう　      　　  　　　ゼロのものが得られる（だけ）だろう　　　待っているだけからは

　（→ただ待っているだけで何も得られないだろう）


③ There is somebody walking behind us.  　I think 　 we are being followed.

だれかが私たちのうしろを歩いている　　       　　　   　　   　 私は思う　　　　   私たちは尾行されていると

 

■受動態のあとに不定詞to～がおかれ，「～として」「～のことを」などの意味が添えられることがあります。

④ He is known  　to be one of the greatest scientists 　in the world.

彼は知られている　 　  　　　    最も偉大な科学者の１人として　　　　  　　      　　   　 世界中で

※「知られている」「言われている」などは，「～として」の部分にto～が使われます。


⑤ My uncle was advised  　by the doctor 　 to lose some weight.

　　 おじは忠告された　　    　　　　     　　　       医者から　　    　 　　 　　 体重を減らすことを

※「命令される」「忠告される」などは，「～を」の部分にto～が使われる。


⑥ Green tea is believed  　to be high  　in vitamins and minerals.

　　 緑茶は信じられている 　   　　　  　　    ～が高いと　　　　　 　　  　ビタミンとミネラルが

※「考えられている」「信じられている」などは，「～と」の部分にto～が使われます。
